Mit Stefan Tretau aka Stobbert startet Simple Records in ein Jahr voller vielversprechender Releases. Der aus Mülheim stammende Soundarchitekt präsentiert eine Mischung aus minimalen aber dennoch cluborientierten Tracks. Der Titel „Winter Apfel“ steigert sich von einem minimal anmutenden Groovetrack zu einem Saw-Wave-Schieber der aller ersten Güte, dem sich niemand entzieht. „Das Siebte Tablett“ lässt es ruhiger angehen und überzeugt mit funktionalem Charakter. Auf der Flipside befindet sich mit „Gamer“ eine Hommage an die videospielbegeisterte Generation und überliefert mit seinen C64-SID-Sounds ein Stück Zeitgeschichte. Die Platte rundet ein Remix von Simple Rec. Mastermind Björn Bommersheim ab. Dessen Neuinterpretation steht im direkten Kontrast zum Original und reizt mit verheißungsvoller Ruhe.

Stefan Tretau, aka Stobbert, Simple Records starts a year releasing very promising records. Originating from Mülheim, Simple's sound architect presents a mixture of minimal, though club-oriented tracks on “Trentsport EP”. The title track “Winter Apfel” begins with a minimal groove and builds to a cacophony of saw waves, all of it of the finest quality. This one can’t really be compared to anyone else. “Das Siebte Tablett”, on the other hand, is concerned more with calmness and a functional structure. On the flipside we have “Gamer”, a homage to the video game generation. It delivers with its C64 SID sounds - a piece of contemporary history. The record ends with a remix of “Gamer” from Simple Records mastermind, Björn Bommersheim. Its new interpretation stands in direct contrast to the original and provokes the listener with captivating peace.
